Bellissima Bridal Shoes

About Dyeable Shoes

Dyeable shoes are perfect for special occasions because the fabric can be worn as-is or tinted to match your dress. Here's what you need to know before you buy.

The Fabric

Dyeable shoes are made from white satin or silk that has been coated with a special solution designed to allow the fabric to accept dye. This coating is invisible to you and does not affect the look or feel of the fabric so the shoes may be worn as-is in white if you prefer. The shoes may have rhinestones, crystals and other details that will not be affected by the coloring process.

Why We Don't Offer Dyeing

Dyeing is a very delicate business which is why we do not offer this service online. Due to the variances in color and dyeing technique, we believe it's best for you to take them to your local shoe store or shoe repair shop to ensure you are completely satisfied with the results. Bellissima holds no responsibility once a product is dyed

Color Check

Many of our dyeable shoes arrive with a fabric swatch so that you can approve the color before the shoes are dyed. If you don't receive a swatch don't worry, dye specialists are used to providing them for pre-approvals.

Lighting

Dyed shoes can change hue under indoor or bright outdoor light. Be sure to ask the dye specialist about this, and test the color under the light you'll be exposed to on the big day.

Perfect Match?

Because of differences in fabric there's a very good chance that there will be some variation between the dress color and the color of the dyed fabric. These subtle variations in tones and textures should be embraced - much like how a real pearl will never match a white gown exactly - but it still looks absolutely beautiful.

Multiple Shoes

If you are dyeing several pairs of bridesmaid shoes or handbags it's best to dye them all at the same time and place. You're going to be happy with the uniform color you'll get this way.

Staining and Running

There's a chance you and your bridesmaids will get caught in a little rain on your wedding day so you should have your shoes treated with water repellent when you have them dyed. This won't completely prevent staining but it will help control it.

Re-Dyeing

All of our shoes can be dyed from a lighter shade to a darker one at least once and often two times. Designer brands such as Vera Wang, Cynthia Rowley, Stuart Weitzman, or Filippa Scott can be dyed to a darker shade several times.
